Veep Media Time: Biden, Webb

In the Veepstakes this past week, there were at least two sightings of potential Obama Veeps.

As the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, newshounds will be seeing a lot of Sen. Biden this week — though that will have more to do with his presiding over the hearing on Iraq than his Veep Potential.

With all of the positives for making Biden Obama’s Veep, it’s hard to ignore his Old Washington flavor.

Senator Jim Webb

He was firm (as always) and calm (not so common).  His passion about the issues was apparent, but no loose cannon firings… the result of Veep Grooming or a new meditation regimen?

Or, perhaps, he’s just getting tired of the mad dog rep.

I like him, I really do – mad dog or calm, he’s my current favorite as an Obama Veep.

  1. Actually, I don’t think he should go with a senator. Doesn’t work too well historically.

I’d say go with a governor. Like Gov. Sebelius

  2. I get that and I think Governor Sebelius is certainly on The List. I’m not convinced that the she brings a lot of Balance to the table (and certainly not much of the highlty sought after “gravitas), but she’s solid and she’s female.

Not that I believe anyone should vote on gender, but Clitnon supporters who think it’s Time for a Woman, ANY Woman, might be mollified with a female VP nominee.

I’m not convinced that that’s true, but the pundits certainly spin that line whenever a possible female VP is suggested.

Some day, I have the audacity to hope, we won’t be having discussions about a candidate’s genetalia when determining what they “bring to the table.”
